MeWelcome to this website. I am Daniel Naylor, a Physics PhD student currently studying at the University of Hull under the supervision of Dr. A Dyson. My current research is focussed on the wide-gap semiconductor Gallium Nitride, and my current aim is to develop an accurate simulation of a device based on GaN using a cosine band structure approximation that was originally proposed by Professor Brian Ridley. The studentship is due to end at the end of March 2012, and I hope to have completed my degree around that time - and my aim is then to post-doc somewhere.

As an aside from Physics, I have dabbled in .NET software development and website design, developing sites for a couple of people. You will eventually be able to see examples of my work in these areas on this site as well, though these projects were undertaken as favours and/or for personal interest and learning, and as such, may not be of the standards of quality you may expect from a professional!

I can be found on Twitter if you wish to take a look!

Please note that this site is currently a work in progress, and more will be added to it in due course!
